
The J&K Ball Badminton Association successfully conducted selection trials for the Senior National Ball Badminton Team 2025-26 at Gindun Sports Stadium, Raj Bagh, Srinagar. The trials were organized in preparation for the 71st Senior National Ball Badminton Championship for Men & Women, scheduled to be held in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, from September 25 to 28, 2025.
The trials were conducted under the supervision of the J&K Sports Council. Key officials overseeing the process included Mr. Shabir Ahmad (Manager, Sports Stadium Budgam) as the observer, and Mr. Dilbagh Singh (Manager, Gindun Sports Stadium, Raj Bagh, Srinagar).
The selection committee also included senior office bearers of the J&K Ball Badminton Association:
Arsheena Malik, General Secretary, (J&K Ball Badminton Association & Vice President, Ball Badminton Federation of India)
Mohsin Farooq, (Vice President, JKBBA)
Zahid Mustafa Bhat, (Member, JKBBA).
After a detailed evaluation process, the committee shortlisted 15 men and 15 women from a pool of 20 participants each. These selected players will attend a 21-day residential coaching camp, following which the final squad of 10 men and 10 women will be selected to represent Jammu & Kashmir at the upcoming national championship.
Details regarding the venue and schedule of the 21 days residential coaching camp and mandatory screening test will be announced shortly.
The J&K Ball Badminton Association congratulated all selected athletes and extended its best wishes, expressing full confidence in their ability to perform well on the national stage.
