Carrying forward the J&K Government’s flagship Mission YUVA (MY) initiative aimed at empowering youth through entrepreneurship and self-employment, J&K Bank today organized multiple Login Day events across Jammu and Kashmir under the titles ‘Roz-e-YUVA’ in Kashmir and ‘Udyami YUVA Day’ in Jammu.
Held simultaneously in various districts, the events saw hundreds of aspiring entrepreneurs receive loan sanction letters to help establish or expand their ventures. These Login Days will now be conducted weekly throughout the Mission YUVA period.
The main program was held at Government Degree College, Ganderbal, where J&K Bank MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee was the chief guest, with Mission Director (MY) Shahzad Alam and Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Jatin Kishore in attendance. A large number of youth, college faculty, senior Bank officials, and local dignitaries were present.
Speaking on the occasion, MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee described Mission YUVA as a unique project and reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to supporting the government’s vision. “We’re not just disbursing loans—we’re investing in the future of young entrepreneurs and the region’s economic growth,” he said. He encouraged the youth to make responsible use of their finances and become job creators.
Mission Director Shahzad Alam lauded the collaborative efforts of the administration and the Bank, calling the initiative a vital step in empowering the youth. “The presence of MD & CEO Chatterjee today is a gesture of solidarity with youth aspirations,” he said.
DC Ganderbal Jatin Kishore thanked J&K Bank for hosting the first such event in the district and emphasized the focus on credit-linking artisans and entrepreneurs to promote the district’s heritage and livelihoods.
J&K Bank’s General Manager (CAM), Ashutosh Sareen, briefed the audience on the benefits of Mission YUVA-linked schemes and emphasized the app-driven, hassle-free registration and support mechanisms.
Earlier, Divisional Head (Kashmir) Shabir Ahmad welcomed the guests and described Roz-e-YUVA as a shared commitment to livelihood creation. At the Ganderbal event alone, dozens of first-time entrepreneurs received sanction letters.
The event concluded with interactive sessions between beneficiaries and dignitaries. Similar programs were conducted in other districts like Srinagar, Rajouri, and Kupwara, featuring loan distributions, counselling, and guidance sessions.
Mission YUVA continues to serve as a powerful platform for youth empowerment, entrepreneurship promotion, and job creation across the Union Territory.
