Jammu, Sep 29: The J&K Sports Council conducted the screening of the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Cycling Team at M.A. Stadium, Jammu, ahead of its participation in the 23rd National MTB Cycling Championship, scheduled to be held in Odisha from October 1 to 4.

The screening was conducted under the supervision of Divisional Sports Officer Jammu Bashir Ahmad, along with Manager Anil Wadara and supporting staff of the J&K Sports Council.
Representing the Cycling Association of Jammu and Kashmir (CAJK), General Secretary Om Parkash Sharma and veteran cyclist Madan Lal, a member of the District Jammu Cycling Association, were present during the selection process.
Cyclist Gurpreet Singh has been nominated as Coach-cum-Manager and will accompany the J&K contingent to the national championship.
The selected cyclists are:
Women Elite: Ulfat Mustaq
Men Under-23: Mohammad Tahir, Ayush Abrol
Junior Boys: Aryan Verma, Saiom, Vasudev
Sub-Junior Boys: Muqeet
Under-14 Boys: Faizan
The officials congratulated the selected cyclists and wished the team success at the national championship.
The participation is expected to provide valuable competitive exposure to the young cyclists and help strengthen the sport’s development in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Cycling Association of Jammu and Kashmir reiterated its commitment to promoting cycling at the grassroots level and creating greater opportunities for talented riders to compete at national and higher levels.
