People from all walks of life in Jammu and Kashmir are looking forward to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the region on April 24, especially those residing in Samba district.
One of them looking forward to the visit is Haji Mohammad Shakeel Saifi, the Chairman of the NGO, World Peace Harmony.
After addressing the media in Srinagar on Wednesday, Saifi spoke to Brighter Kashmir and highlighted why Prime Minister Modi’s visit is important for the nation in general and for Jammu and Kashmir in particular.
“Our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi ji, is visiting Jammu and Kashmir on April 24. I appeal to all members and workers of World Peace Harmony, and the Muslim community in particular, to congregate in large numbers and support him in taking his visionary mission of ‘Sab ka Saath, Sab Ka Vikas aur Sab ka Vishwas’ forward.”
Safi further said that for the past 70 years, the people of this country have been watching the performance of many political parties, including the Indian National Congress (INC), but without a doubt, most feel that the present government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, has delivered on its promises and commitments.
“What we need to do at this point in time is to work shoulder to shoulder with Mr. Modi, who is doing such wonderful work for the nation. He has earned a name for the nation and himself globally. It is my earnest wish that every Muslim across the country should take pride in the achievements of this government and also be proud of the fact that Mr. Modi is India’s Prime Minister.”
Haji Mohammad Shakeel Saifi told Brighter Kashmir that he would be joining Muslims and people from other communities to warmly welcome Prime Minister Modi when he arrives in the village of Palli in Samba district to historically declare it as the first carbon-free solar panchayat in the union territory.
According to reports, the village, which is located just 17 kilometres from Jammu city, the UT’s winter capital, is witnessing a major transformation with an upgraded Panchayat Ghar, renovated government high school building, a new pond, improved playfields and macadamised roads.
“I appeal to the people of Kashmir in particular, that for the future development and welfare of Jammu and Kashmir, they showcase the hospitality that Kashmir is famous for, as well as use every means of communication to announce and promote Narendra Modi’s visit to the region,” Shafi said.
“There is a popular slogan – ‘Bharat Mata ke Chaar Sepai, Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Isaih’. This slogan aptly sums up Prime Minister Modi’s mission of taking the people of India along with him in realising the dream of a developed and progressive India. I believe that Mr Modi is the one man who can give both succour and progress to the people of Kashmir. Jai Hind, Jai Bharat,” he added.
Meanwhile, with about five days to go for Modi’s arrival, work on the 500 KV solar plant is going on at a good pace. The solar plant is coming up on 6,408 square metres of land and it is aimed at providing clean electricity to 340 houses in the Palli panchayat under the Centre’s ‘Gram Urja Swaraj' Scheme.
