
Jammu, Mar 8, 2026: Former DGP Sh. Ashok Bhan inaugurated the 2nd All India Police Kabaddi Cluster 2025–26 at Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu, marking the start of a week-long sporting extravaganza organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police from March 7–12.
The tournament, supervised by Sh. Anand Jain, IPS, ADG Armed J&K, features Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Fencing, and Gymnastics competitions, showcasing the athletic talent, discipline, and teamwork of police personnel from across India.
A total of 1,648 athletes—including 1,071 men and 577 women—are participating, along with team managers, officials, and representatives from the All India Police Sports Control Board, making it one of the largest police sporting events in the country. Teams from CAPFs such as BSF, CRPF, CISF, SSB, Assam Rifles, RPF, and ITBP, as well as state and UT police forces, are competing.
The event aims to promote fitness, sportsmanship, and camaraderie among police personnel while providing a platform to showcase their competitive spirit nationally. Speaking on International Women’s Day, Sh. Bhan lauded the participation of women athletes, highlighting their growing empowerment and crucial role in the police and CAPFs.
The inauguration ceremony saw enthusiastic participation from athletes and officials, including Sh. M.K. Sinha, IPS, ADGP Hqrs; Sh. Gareeb Dass, IPS, Director SKPA Udhampur; Sh. Nitish Kumar, IPS, ADGP CID J&K; and senior officers from across Jammu.
The cluster promises a vibrant week of competition, celebrating both sporting excellence and the spirit of unity among India’s police forces.
