J&K Wushu team emerged as winner in the 8th Wushu federation cup at Bilaspur (Chattisgarh) from 24th to 29th March 2025.
J&K Wushu team secured 6 Gold & 08 Bronze medals in the championship and topped the medal tally in the sanda event of the 8th Wushu federation cup. Mohd Ali, Ansa Chisti, Ajmal, Musharaf qayoom and Amit kumar secured Gold medals for the UT J&K in the championship.
The J&K Wushu athletes showed are continuously performing excellent in the National and International events and making the country and the UT J&K Proud. Recently, J&K showed excellent performance in the National Games at Uttrakhand with 07 medals.
The Office bearers of Wushu Association of J&K congratulated the Medalists and the coaches for lifting the title 8th Federation cup. President Vijay Saraf , Ranjit Kalra (VP) and Bhavneet (General Secretary) congratulated the medalists and the coaches for their outstanding performance in the championship and wished all the very best for the forthcoming international and national level championships.
Kuldeep Handoo (Dronacharya Awardee) congratulated the medalists for their excellent performance in the championship , he applauded the new comers for showing their extra ordinary performance in the championship, He thanked J&K Sports council for their support and taking the Wushu towards excellence, Vis a vis he appealed Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor ,Hon'ble Chief Minister J&K and Hon’ble Sports Minister of UT J&K for acknowledging the achievements of Wushu athletes of UT J&K and considering their long pending demand of Wushu academy, so that they may be focussed for the forthcoming World championship-25, and Asian Games 2026.
