The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) organized an insightful Entrepreneurship and Startup Orientation Program on Friday, in collaboration with the Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET). The event, aimed at empowering the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, was designed to familiarize students with the opportunities and support mechanisms available under the J&K Startup Policy 2024-27.
The program focused on educating approximately 40 participating students about the significant role of entrepreneurship and innovation in shaping their careers. Held at the JKEDI Bari Brahamana campus, the orientation featured interactive sessions on startup ideation, business plan modeling, and an in-depth understanding of government incentives under the newly introduced J&K Startup Policy.
Experts from JKEDI shared valuable insights into various schemes and programs tailored to support budding entrepreneurs in the region.
Sh. Khalid Jahangir (JKAS), Director of JKEDI, addressed the attendees and stressed the importance of such awareness programs in fostering the entrepreneurial spirit. He emphasized that these initiatives help students think innovatively, understand the basics of entrepreneurship, and, ultimately, move towards becoming job creators instead of job seekers.
The session was met with enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and other officials of the institute, marking a significant step in JKEDI's ongoing efforts to nurture innovation and entrepreneurship in Jammu and Kashmir, contributing to the region's economic growth by opening new doors for opportunities.
