
The 850 MWs Ratle Hydroelectric Project in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir would supply electricity to Rajasthan for 40 years.
The Ratle Hydro Power Corporation has entered into an agreement with Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Limited to supply electricity from its 850 MW power plant in Kishtwar in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The Ratle Hydro Electric Power Corporation Ltd is a joint venture company of state-owned NHPC Ltd and Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation (JKSPDC).
The agreement was signed for offtake of power for 40 years from the commercial operation date of the project and as per power allocation to be notified by the Ministry of Power.
The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) was signed in Jaipur on Wednesday in presence of senior officers of RHPCL & Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Ltd.
The agreement marks a substantial development in the energy sector.
“This strategic partnership aligns with the broader energy goals and initiatives of the Ministry of Power, Government of India. This venture not only strengthens the ties between the two regions but also underscores the commitment towards sustainable and efficient power supply,” union power ministry said.
