Rajouri, Jan 30: Aspirants for Junior Resident posts have raised concerns after Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri and GMC Kathua announced overlapping examination dates, creating confusion and anxiety among candidates.
The schedule conflict makes it impossible for eligible candidates to appear in both exams, affecting those who had applied to both institutions. Many aspirants, having completed application formalities and travel arrangements, expressed frustration over the lack of coordination.
The All India Medical Students Association (AIMSA) highlighted the stress caused by the clash and called it unfair to young medical graduates. Dr. Mohammad Momin Khan, J&K AIMSA President, urged Health Minister Sakina Itoo to intervene and direct authorities to revise the schedule, ensuring fairness and equal opportunity.
Candidates and experts stressed that prompt action is essential to prevent hardship and restore confidence among aspiring doctors in the Union Territory.
