
Stresses need for infrastructure upgrade
Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Judge of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, today visited the District Court Complex, Budgam, to review the functioning of the courts and assess the available infrastructure and facilities for litigants, lawyers, and judicial officers.
Upon his arrival, Justice Sanjeev Kumar was warmly received by the Principal District & Sessions Judge Budgam, other judicial officers, president Bar Association Javed hubi and members of the Bar Association, and court staff.
During the visit, Justice Sanjeev Kumar inspected courtrooms, record rooms, and other facilities within the complex. He interacted with judicial officers, lawyers, and litigants, stressing the importance of ensuring speedy justice, efficient case management, and a litigant-friendly atmosphere.
Addressing the occasion, Advocate Javed Hubi, President of the Bar Association Budgam, highlighted the urgent need for improved infrastructure in the district judiciary. He remarked, “Justice delivered in inadequate infrastructure is justice diminished.” Advocate Hubi urged the High Court administration and the government to prioritize the upgradation of court facilities to match the growing needs of the justice system in Budgam.
Justice Sanjeev Kumar also convened a meeting with the district judiciary and the Bar Association to discuss issues of judicial infrastructure, technological advancement, and better coordination between the Bench and the Bar. He assured that every possible step would be taken to strengthen judicial facilities and improve access to justice in Budgam.
The visit concluded with appreciation from the Hon’ble Judge for the commitment and efforts of the District Court Budgam in maintaining efficiency despite poor infrastructure and other existing challenges.
