Kashmir province Chess Ch’ship concludes in Srinagar

The Kashmir Province Chess Championships 2025 for Senior, Junior, and Sub-Junior categories (boys and girls) concluded successfully at the Srinagar Sports Club, Wazirbagh. Organized by the All J&K Chess Association in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, the championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 130 players representing various districts across the Kashmir division.
The multi-day event featured intense and competitive matches across different age groups, showcasing the strategic brilliance and sportsmanship of young chess talents from the region. At the valedictory ceremony, trophies, mementoes, and certificates were distributed among winners and runners-up. Parents and players expressed appreciation for the All J&K Chess Association’s continuous efforts to promote chess and engage youth in meaningful sporting activities.
Throughout the championship, players demonstrated excellent tactical skills, discipline, and competitive spirit. The matches drew enthusiastic spectators and created many exciting, nail-biting moments.
Organizers emphasized the importance of chess in shaping young minds, helping them develop critical thinking, concentration, and problem-solving abilities. They expressed hope that such events will continue to grow and inspire the next generation of chess champions in the Valley
