A MeT official said Srinagar recorded a minimum of –1.9°C, a sharp improvement from –4.4°C during the previous night.
Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at –1.0°C against –3.0°C, while the tourist resort of Pahalgam registered –0.4°C compared to the previous –5.6°C.
In north Kashmir, Kupwara recorded a night temperature o –3.2°C, easing from –5.0°C a night earlier.
South Kashmir’s Kokernag saw temperatures climb to 0.2°C from –1.2°C, and the ski resort of Gulmarg recorded 0.3°C, up significantly from –1.4°C the previous night.
The Meteorological Department has predicted mainly dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir over the next 24 hours, with only a slight possibility of very light rain or snow at one or two high-altitude locations.
