
Awantipora, June 18: Ministry of Culture, Government of India presented a grand Kashmiri musical opera "SOUNTUK AALAW" approved by the north central zone cultural Centre NCZCC under the scheme of Cultural Function and Production Grant (CFPGS 47the meeting) it was organized by the Young Dramatists Society (YDS), Srinagar, in collaboration with the Islamic University of science and technology at the Nundreshi Auditorium, IUST, on June 18, 2026.
The musical opera received an overwhelming response from the audience, particularly the student community, who appreciated and enjoyed the rich cultural heritage, traditional music, and artistic excellence showcased through the performance. The event highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting Kashmir's vibrant cultural traditions among the younger generation.
Vice-Chancellor of IUST Prof. Shakil A Ramshoo along with members of the Cultural Committee of IUST, appreciated the initiative of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and the efforts of the Young Dramatists Society in promoting cultural awareness through performing arts. They also emphasized the significant role of the media fraternity in encouraging young artists and preserving cultural heritage through extensive coverage and public outreach.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks presented by the President of the Young Dramatists Society, who expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, the Vice-Chancellor and the Cultural Committee, members of the media, artists, and the audience for making the event a grand success.
