The visiting foreign members of G20 have said that the people of Kashmir are exceptionally good hosts and well behaved people and their hospitality is one of best in the world.
“The people of Kashmir are a great people. They treat you like you are their own and have exceptional qualities. The best quality among Kashmiris is how to treat your guests.”
“The manners, love and warmth they bestow on their guests is phenomenal. I have never seen such warmth and friendly people like I saw in Kashmir. The people here are God-gift,” one of the foreign dignitaries, who is part of the G20 delegation, told Brighter Kashmir.
He said that the people in Kashmir have a high level of intellect and their wit is something one needs to learn from. “I was surprised to see that Kashmiri are an intellectual lot. They are very sharp and have deep political knowledge of what is happening around the world in general and in their own region and Muslim world in particular,” the delegate said.
He said that though people have all the good qualities of being good citizens, they have far fewer opportunities in Kashmir when it comes to the job market.
“It is imperative for the government of India to create job opportunities for Kashmir. The government in New Delhi should not let waste such an immense talent. The government needs to open more and more opportunities for the local populace of Kashmir. Whatever the government has done so far is not catering to the one percent of the population,” he said.
He said that Kashmiri tradition and her culture have also been one of the eye catching openers for the foreign delegates.
“We have read a lot about Kashmiri culture and traditions. The main dish-course which is Wazan, is mouthwatering. I used to often read and listen to it from my friends who have previously visited Kashmir. Now I have tasted it myself and let me inform you that what I had read or heard about was nothing. It was a treat to experience it first hand,” he said.
He said one can go on and on about Kashmir but how can one not talk about its beauty. “People often talk about Switzerland and Europe and its beauty. I advise them to come to Kashmir once and they will forget Switzerland and Europe. It is truly heaven on earth,” he said.
The three-day second Tourism Working Group Global (TWG) meeting, under India’s G20 presidency, is scheduled to begin in Srinagar from May 22 to 24.
Also, on the third day of the Summit, the Netherlands envoy Joyce said that they expect a good outcome from the G20 Summit as India has done good work.
“Kashmir is a beautiful place and the government had made the best arrangements for them during their 3-day stay in Srinagar,” he said.
The Mexican Ambassador said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has played an active role as far as the G20 summit is concerned and that the event is top priority for Mexico.
“His country will participate in these events as much as possible,” he said.
Meanwhile, the areas in and around the Srinagar district have also been sanitized and the security has been beefed up as well.
The security officials said that they are aware about the miscreants trying to vitiate the peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
Pertinently, economic power house China and Muslim Turkey have boycotted the Summit. “We do not participate in events that are being held in disputed regions,” read their press releases.
