Kashmiris celebrate PM Modi’s 75th birthday at Ghanta Ghar

September 18, 2025 | BK News Service

In a vibrant display of celebration and unity, Kashmiris gathered at Srinagar’s iconic Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower) on Wednesday to mark the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The festivities were marked by a blend of cultural heritage and community service, reflecting both reverence and civic spirit.

Organized by local socio-cultural groups, the event featured traditional Kashmiri music and folk dances performed by local artists, creating a festive and inclusive atmosphere in the heart of Lal Chowk. The celebration drew participants from various walks of life, including students, traders, artists, and social activists.
A garland ceremony was held in front of the Clock Tower, where a large portrait of PM Modi was adorned with flowers. Organizers expressed their gratitude for what they described as the Prime Minister's "visionary leadership" and continued focus on development and integration in Jammu and Kashmir.
A significant part of the event was a blood donation camp set up beside the Clock Tower, symbolizing a message of selflessness and service to humanity — ideals associated with the Prime Minister's leadership. Dozens of volunteers came forward to donate blood, with medical professionals on-site facilitating the drive.
Speaking at the event, a community organizer said, “This is more than a birthday celebration. It’s a way to express solidarity and gratitude for the positive changes we’ve witnessed in the region over the past few years.”
Security arrangements were in place, and the event concluded peacefully with the singing of the national anthem and distribution of sweets.
The celebration at Ghanta Ghar is part of a broader series of events being held across the country to commemorate PM Modi's milestone birthday, but the festivities in Srinagar carried unique cultural significance given the symbolic setting and the participation of the local community.
