Mehbooba demands action against people responsible

Reacting to reports that two minor Hindu sisters were allegedly kidnapped and forcibly married after being converted to Islam in Pakistan's Sindh province, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti demanded action against the culprits and corrective measures immediately.
Ms Mehbooba, who is the former chief minister of J&K, said the new Pakistan that its Prime Minister and people envisage can’t be where girls are abducted, forcefully converted and married off to strangers.
Whether its India or Pakistan, lets ensure our minorities are safe and live dignified lives, Ms Mehbooba said.
“The naya Pak that its PM & awam envisage can’t be where girls are abducted, forcefully converted & married off to strangers. Culprits should be punished & corrective measures must be taken asap .Whether its Ind or Pak, lets ensure our minorities are safe & live dignified lives,” Ms Mehbooba wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
The two minor girls, Raveena and Reena, were allegedly kidnapped by a group of 'influential' men from their home in Ghotki district in Sindh province in Pakistan on the eve of Holi.
Meanwhile, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday intimated the names of the party leaders to Election Commission of India who have been nominated as Star campaigners for the coming Lok Sabha polls in Jammu and Kashmir by the party president Mehbooba Mufti.
Signed by PDP General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, a letter was sent to Chief Electoral Officer Jammu and Kashmir in which names of nine PDP leaders were declared as the star campaigners of the party.
The names are Mehbooba Mufti, Muzaffar Hussain Beigh, Abdul Rahman Veeri, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, Abdul Haq Khan, Dilawar Mir, Mehboob Beigh, Nizam-ud-din Bhat and party’s Srinagar district President and MLC Mohammad Khurshid Alam.
