
Srinagar, Mar 26: The District Kishtwar Taekwondo Championships 2025–26 concluded successfully today at Iqra International School, after two days of competitive action held from 25th to 26th March 2026.
The championship was organized by the Taekwondo Association of District Kishtwar under the aegis of the J&K Taekwondo Association and the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council.
Around 70 players from various schools and clubs across the district participated in the championship. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and displayed a commendable standard of competition. All bouts were conducted smoothly, fairly, and in strict adherence to the prescribed rules and regulations.
The closing ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest Vikar Ahmed, along with Guest of Honour Mehnaz Butt and Ajaz Ahmed. Special Guests included Aman Verma and Nadeem Niaz Zargar, who appreciated the efforts of the organizers and encouraged the young athletes.
The technical proceedings were efficiently handled under the leadership of Kashif Iqbal, along with officials Asrar Elahi Zargar, Mutaib Masood, Ahmed Tahan, Mehrooza Banoo, and Rumiya Banoo, ensuring fair and professional conduct of all matches.
Aman Verma, who attended the championship as an observer appointed by JKSC, was also present during the closing ceremony and distributed medals among the winners and participants.
Rajesh Pangotra congratulated the organizing team for the successful conduct of the championship and expressed gratitude to Nuzhat Gul for her continued support towards the promotion and development of taekwondo in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The championship concluded on a high note, marking another successful step in promoting sportsmanship and nurturing young talent in the district.
