Srinagar Sep 21: The Health Centre, University of Kashmir (KU), in collaboration with Kashmir Eye Hospital, organised a two-day Mega Eye Screening-cum-Awareness Camp at the Main Campus.

It aimed to provide accessible eye-care services to the University community and promote preventive eye health and early detection of vision-related conditions.
The camp offered on-site clinical screenings and specialist consultations, with services including vision testing, auto-refraction, keratometry, non-contact tonometry for intraocular pressure measurement, distance and near vision refraction, slit-lamp examination and dilated fundus examination.KU organises two-day mega eye screening and awareness camp
Vice-Chancellor, KU, Prof. Nilofer Khan, in her message, appreciated the initiative and emphasised the importance of preventive healthcare and timely screening.
“Regular eye screening and timely consultation can play an important role in preventing avoidable vision problems and ensuring better eye health. Such initiatives bring essential healthcare services closer to our University community and promote greater awareness about preventive care,” she said.
While visiting the camp and taking stock of the arrangements Registrar, KU, Prof. Naseer Iqbal, highlighted the importance of making essential healthcare services accessible to students and staff on campus and appreciated the Health Centre and Kashmir Eye Hospital for organising the camp.
Specialist consultations were provided by Dr. Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar, Dr. Syed Tafhiem-ul-Aalam, Dr. Reem Javeed, Dr. Jasiya Bashir and Dr. Qazi Afshan Sumaiya from Kashmir Eye Hospital.
The camp was coordinated by Dr. Khalid Nazir, Coordinator, Health Centre KU, and supervised by Dr. Surayya Jan and Dr. Azhar Ahad, Medical Officers, Health Centre, KU.
