Inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor KU Prof Nilofer Khan the exhibition featured ancient coins, bronzes, manuscripts, rare texts, and artifacts from India and Kashmir, as well as exhibits showcasing historic linkages with Tajikistan, China, and Samarkand.
The Vice Chancellor said that the initiative aimed to raise awareness among students and scholars about India’s enduring knowledge systems and its deep-rooted cultural connections with Central Asia.
Director CCAS Prof Wahid Nasru highlighted the significance of such exhibitions on the occassion.
Free Eye Screening Camp
A two-day Eye Screening-cum-Awareness Camp was organised at the University Health Centre in collaboration with Kashmir Eye Hospital. More than 600 students, scholars, faculty members, and staff—including women and persons with disabilities—benefited from free services such as vision testing, auto refraction, keratometry, intraocular pressure measurement, slit-lamp examination, and dilated fundus examination.
Specialists also guided participants on preventive eye care, early detection of vision problems, and healthy lifestyle practices to maintain good vision.
Fruit Distribution Drive at KUMHS
Vice-Chancellor, KU, Prof. Nilofer Khan, distributed fruits among students of the Kashmir University Model High School (KUMHS) at Naseem Bagh. Wishing the Prime Minister on his birthday, she said: “The University is committed to nurturing values of care and compassion among students. Such small gestures instill in them the importance of sharing and empathy.”
The event was attended by Registrar KU Prof. Naseer Iqbal, Dean Students’ Welfare KU Prof. Pervez Ahmad, Chairman KUMHS Prof. Adil Amin Kak, and Cultural Officer DSW KU Dr. Shahid Ali Khan.
