
Srinagar, June 9: The University of Kashmir has notified the selection criteria, examination scheme, and syllabus for the post of Public Relations Officer (PGD-CNV-3), advertised earlier this year.
According to the notification, the recruitment process will comprise an 80-mark objective-type written test followed by a 20-mark interview, taking the total selection weightage to 100 marks. Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview on the basis of merit secured in the written examination.
The university said candidates will be called for interviews in a ratio of 1:5 against the number of advertised posts. The written examination will be conducted in OMR-based format and will carry negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.
As per the scheme, the written test will consist of 80 objective-type questions to be completed within 90 minutes. Each correct answer will carry one mark.
The syllabus covers a wide range of subjects including English language skills, public relations and communication, digital and social media, higher education administration, information technology literacy, current affairs, Jammu and Kashmir general awareness, and laws governing higher education institutions.
The public relations segment includes topics such as crisis communication, media relations, reputation management, event management, alumni outreach, ethics in public relations, and communication strategies in educational institutions.
The university has also included sections on digital public relations, online reputation management, cyber safety, data protection laws, social media communication, and content management tools, reflecting the evolving role of communication professionals in higher education institutions.
The notification has been issued to inform applicants about the examination framework and subject areas that will form the basis of the recruitment process for the Public Relations Officer post.
