KU VC, faculty condole demise of Prof Shah Manzoor Alam

Vice-Chancellor University of Kashmir Prof Talat Ahmad Thursday chaired a condolence meeting to mourn the demise of former varsity Vice-Chancellor Prof Shah Manzoor Alam

The VC and faculty members paid rich tributes to Prof. Alam, who served as KU VC from 1984-1987.
Recalling the vast contributions of Prof. Alam as an eminent academician and VC, Prof Talat prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul while expressing his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family.
“Prof Alam’s demise is a sad occasion for the entire university fraternity. His contributions for the growth and development of the university will always be remembered,” he said.
Prof Talat said the rich legacy left behind by Prof Alam’s leadership will continue to inspire young academicians and scholars to work hard to attain their academic goals with determination.
Dean Academic Affairs Prof Shabir A Bhat, Registrar Dr Nisar A Mir, Prof Shamim A Shah and Prof M Y Ganai also spoke on the occasion and recalled the contributions of Prof Alam to the promotion of academics and research in the university.
‘Fateha’ prayers were also offered for the departed soul.
Meanwhile, former KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Abdul Wahid Qureshi also condoled the demise of Prof Shah Manzoor Alam.
