The District Kulgam Wushu Championship 2024 commenced with a spirit of unity and remembrance at Ayesha Ali Academy, Kulgam. The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of the Manager J&K Sports Council, Sister of Syed Muzamil, the Headmistress of Ayesha Ali Academy, and the dedicated team of the District Wushu Kulgam Association.
This championship, delayed due to the untimely and tragic demise of Syed Muzamil, the beloved Secretary of the District Wushu Kulgam Association, marks the official district event for 2024. The tournament stands as a heartfelt tribute to his legacy, showcasing the strength and determination of the Wushu community he cherished so deeply.
A total of 178 participants, including 63 girls and 115 boys, from 12 schools and FFC Kulgam, are competing in this championship, highlighting the growth and inclusivity of the sport.
The event will conclude on 8th January 2025, serving as a platform to honor Syed Muzamil’s vision and dedication to Wushu in Kulgam.
The District Wushu Kulgam Association extends its heartfelt gratitude to its mentors, Kuldeep Handoo, Maqsoor Rather, Aijaz Hassan, and Aaqib Majeed, for their unwavering support and guidance in making this event possible.
