Labour Commissioner J&K, Charandeep Singh Tuesday visited the ESI Dispensary Digiana, Jammu, to take stock of its overall functioning and delivery of healthcare services to Insured Persons (IPs).
During the inspection, the Labour Commissioner reviewed the Dhanwantri module, highlighting its role in streamlining healthcare services for beneficiaries. Dhanwantri module is a Hospital Information System (HIS) to improve patient care and hospital operations. It helps doctors write prescriptions and manage patient records digitally.
On the occasion, the Labour Commissioner also interacted with Insured Persons (IPs) to understand the challenges faced by workers and assess the quality of services being provided to them. He took stock of the overall functioning of the dispensary and directed officials to expedite Medical Reimbursement Claims (MRCs) and ensure timely procurement of essential drugs to improve patient care.
Emphasizing the importance of efficient healthcare delivery, the Labour Commissioner urged the staff to make the dispensary more vibrant and service-oriented, ensuring that all IPs receive the healthcare facilities they are entitled to. He reiterated the government’s commitment to workers’ welfare and called upon officials to uphold the objectives of the ESI Scheme in the Union Territory. The Labour Commissioner also directed the staff to take immediate corrective measures for improving sanitation.
