Srinagar, Mar 13: The absence of adequate evening transport during the holy month of Ramadan has left many commuters in Srinagar frustrated, particularly those returning home after work or shopping for iftar.
Passengers said that public transport becomes scarce in the late afternoon and evening hours, forcing many people to wait for long periods or pay higher fares to reach their destinations. The situation has been especially difficult for daily wage earners, students, and elderly residents.
Commuters said that the rush increases ahead of iftar as people try to reach home in time, but the limited number of vehicles on the roads makes the journey stressful. Many alleged that some transport operators stop services early during Ramadan, further worsening the situation.
Residents have urged the transport authorities to ensure adequate evening services during Ramadan so that people can travel conveniently without facing unnecessary delays and inconvenience.
