
Joint Director Youth Services and Sports, UT Ladakh, Tahir Hussain Zubdavi today felicitated Rinchen Youdol, the Asian Para Gold Medalist, on her return to Ladakh after her historic victory at the 2025 Junior, Cadet & Para Asian Taekwondo Championships held in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
Tahir Hussain presented traditional Khataks to Rinchen Youdol, her parents, her coach, her escort Madame Lahmo, and members of the Ladakh Taekwondo Association.
Speaking on the occasion, Rinchen Youdol expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Youth Services and Sports UT Ladakh for their moral support, stating that the competition was tough but the encouragement she received made her journey easier.
Addressing the gathering, Tahir Hussain Zubdavi said that Rinchen has made Ladakh proud by securing the first-ever Asian Championship Gold Medal by a Ladakhi player. He lauded her dedication and determination, describing the achievement as a milestone in the sports history of the region.
Among those present were Account Officer Youth Services and Sports UT Ladakh, Mohd Issa Khan, General Secretary Ladakh Taekwondo Association, Anayat Ali, DYSSO Kargil, Abid Ali, General Secretary District Kargil Olympic Association, Syed Mehraj Uddin Shah, Treasurer Safdar Ali, Coach Mohd Ali, and other officers and officials of the department.
Later, a memento was presented to Rinchen Youdol by Tahir Hussain Zubdavi in recognition of her outstanding achievement.
