Jammu, Feb 16: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha ordered the reopening of 14 tourist destinations previously closed after the Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025.
The closed sites include Tulip Garden, Yousmarg, Doodhpathri, Peer Ki Gali, Dubjan, and several parks across Kashmir, as well as Devi Pindi, Mahu Mangat, and Mughal Maidan in Jammu. Some high-altitude destinations like Gurez, Athwatoo, Bangus, and Ramkund will reopen once snow clearance is complete.
The LG’s decision follows a security review and comes shortly after Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a security meeting in Jammu. Tour operators welcomed the move, noting it will boost tourist footfall and revive the sector after winter festivities in Gulmarg and Sonmarg.
