The residents from several villages of Baramulla district on Wednesday expressed anger against Roads and Buildings (R&B) department for failing to repair 6-kilometer Lolipora- Yadipora road.
Despite being a vital road, the inhabitants said the road is in dilapidated condition and is craving for attention over the years.
Riyaz Ahmad, a resident of Yadipora Pattan said that road is dotted with potholes and has become death trap for commuters.
“The road passes through dozens of villages but its condition is dilapidated from past several years as the government has neglected the vital road,” he said.
The locals had many times appealed to the authorities of R&B to macadamize the road, but nothing has been done so for.
“The vehicles plying from several areas of Pattan are facing hurdles in reaching their destinations.
Last year some portion of the road was macadamized but still 70 percent of the road is dotted with potholes,” said Mohammad Shaban of Lolipora.
The residents appealed the Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu led administration and Chief Engineer R&B Kashmir to resolve the matter as soon as possible. (JKNS)
