
Dimapur,, Jan 15: Lt Gen Abhijit S. Pendharkar, General Officer Commanding of Spear Corps, officially flagged-in the North East Frontier Technical University (NEFTU) students for an Eco-Tourism Skill Development Tour as part of the ongoing community outreach initiative, #OperationSadbhavana.
The programme, designed to provide both indoor training and hands-on field exposure, took NEFTU students from Aalo to eco-tourism hotspots in Darjeeling and Kalimpong. Participants received insights into sustainable tourism practices, hospitality management, and environmental conservation, aimed at equipping them with practical skills to support eco-tourism initiatives in their home regions.
During the flag-in ceremony, Lt Gen Pendharkar encouraged students to actively engage in learning opportunities and highlighted the importance of eco-tourism in promoting sustainable development and local livelihoods. He also appreciated the enthusiasm of the students and praised their commitment to applying the skills gained for the benefit of their communities.
