Imphal, Sep 13: In a major success against insurgent networks, coordinated intelligence-based operations by the Assam Rifles and Indian Army formations under Spear Corps, in collaboration with the Manipur Police, led to the recovery of substantial quantities of weapons, ammunition and other war-like stores in Chandel and Churachandpur districts of Manipur.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the security forces launched coordinated operations at identified locations in the two districts. The searches resulted in the recovery of 16 weapons, along with ammunition and other war-like material.
The recovery is being viewed as a significant operational achievement, as the seizure of such caches can disrupt the logistical capabilities and activities of unlawful armed networks operating in the region.
The joint operations also highlighted the importance of intelligence sharing and close coordination among the security forces and state police in tackling insurgency and maintaining security in Manipur.
The forces have reiterated their commitment to continuing intelligence-driven operations against armed networks while working towards strengthening peace and stability across the state.
The latest recovery underscores the ongoing efforts of the security forces to identify and dismantle weapons networks and prevent arms and ammunition from reaching insurgent elements, thereby contributing to a safer and more secure environment for communities in Manipur.
