
New Delhi, Feb 16: Members of various Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) from Chandel and Tengnoupal districts of Manipur called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan as part of a National Integration Tour.
The delegation, comprising community leaders, youth representatives and members of grassroots organisations, is visiting the national capital under an outreach initiative aimed at fostering national unity, awareness and exposure to key democratic institutions. The tour seeks to strengthen bonds between the northeastern region and the rest of the country through meaningful interaction and cultural exchange.
During the interaction, the President welcomed the delegation and appreciated their efforts in promoting peace, communal harmony and social development in their respective districts. She highlighted the importance of dialogue, cooperation and inclusive growth in strengthening the fabric of the nation.
Members of the delegation shared their experiences, local challenges and aspirations of the people of Chandel and Tengnoupal. The President encouraged them to continue working towards empowerment of youth, women and marginalized communities while preserving the rich cultural heritage of Manipur.
The visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan also included an overview of its historical and constitutional significance, offering participants a deeper understanding of the country’s democratic framework.
