Master Ab Rashid Ganie receives warm farewell on superannuation

Budgam , Feb 28 : In a fitting tribute to a lifetime of dedicated service, the faculty of Government Middle School Wager, in collaboration with the Higher Secondary section, organized a solemn and dignified farewell ceremony to bid adieu to Master Ab Rashid Ganie, who retired today after a illustrious career in teaching.

The event, held at the school premises, witnessed a significant gathering of academicians and officials. The dais was graced by the presence of the Honorable Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Dreygam, the Principal of Government Higher Secondary School (HSS) Wager, and the Headmaster of Government High School (HS) Khachiwari, Budgam, alongside other distinguished guests from the education department.
The ceremony began with a warm welcome address, followed by speakers who took the stage to reminisce about Master Ganie's journey. Colleagues from Middle School Wager described him as the "backbone" of the institution, whose dedication to nurturing young minds has left an indelible mark on the community.
The Honorable ZEO Dreygam, in his address, highlighted the vital role teachers play in shaping society. "Master Ab Rashid Ganie is a shining example of an educator who carried the flag of knowledge with humility and grace. His retirement is a loss to the department, but his legacy will live on through the countless students he has guided," he remarked.

The Headmaster of Govt HS Khachiwari also spoke eloquently about their long-standing professional relationship, calling Master A.R Ganie a "mentor to mentors."
As the focal point of the event, Master Ab Rashid Ganie was felicitated with ceremonial gifts, a shawl, and a momento by the guests and faculty as a token of appreciation for his unwavering service.
Visibly moved by the overwhelming love and respect, Master Ab Rashid Ganie addressed the gathering. "An institution is not just bricks and mortar; it is the people within it. I have spent the best years of my life here, and today, I leave with a heavy heart but a treasure trove of memories. I am grateful to the ZEO, all the Principals, my colleagues, and my students for making my journey so meaningful," he said.
The vote of thanks was proposed by a senior faculty member of Middle School Wager, acknowledging the presence of the esteemed guests who took time to honor the retiring master.
The function concluded with a group photograph, capturing the dignitaries and staff together, marking the end of an era for Master Ab Rashid Ganie, as the education fraternity of Wager wished him a peaceful and healthy retired life.
