
Mission Director (MD), Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), J&K Khurshid Ahmad Shah, today embarked on an extensive tour of Budgam district to inspect various Water Supply Schemes (WSS) in the district.
MD was accompanied by Superintending Engineer, Hydraulic Circle Budgam, Shazia Majeed and divisional and sub- divisional officials of the district.
MD inspected WSS Gadsathoo, Sheikh-Ul-Alam, Shamas Faqir, Rayar and Arizal Zempora along with officials from PHE Division Budgam and the District Project Management (DPMU) Budgam team.
The visit aimed to review the progress and implementation status of the scheme. Field issues were discussed, and necessary directions were given for smooth functioning and quality assurance of schemes being constructed under JJM.
MD sought particulars related to each WSS inspected in terms of the villages covered, Functional Household Connections (FHTCs) provided and sustainability of sources selected. It was assured that all works related to JJM will be completed in a time bound manner with assured quantity and quality related to water supply from these schemes once commissioned.
He also reviewed the functioning of Water Testing Labs and sought the details of reagents and number of tests conducted. It was informed that Water Testing through Field Testing kits (FTKs) is being undertaken in villages and schools under Dharti Aaba Abhiyan.
It was further informed that awareness programs regarding safe drinking water are being conducted throughout the district.

DLIC Budgam discusses 30 cases verified by SBDU under Mission YUVA scheme
BUDGAM, JULY 01: In a major step towards promoting youth entrepreneurship and self-employment in the district, District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) Budgam today discussed the applications of 30 cases under Mission YUVA.
On the occasion, all 30 candidates were called for attending the meeting, out of which only 17 appeared.
The meeting was held in conference hall DC Office Budgam under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat.
The objective was to review and approve applications submitted by young aspiring entrepreneurs under the Mission YUVA initiative, which aims to provide financial assistance and capacity-building support to youth for starting and sustaining their businesses.
Officers from the concerned departments presented a detailed review of the applications. After careful scrutiny and discussions, the Committee approved 17 eligible cases for further financial support and guidance.
The approval of these cases is expected to boost entrepreneurial spirit among youth and contribute to the overall economic development of the district.
