The large-scale event was organised to honour the selfless service of veterans and to reaffirm the Army’s enduring bond with its ex-servicemen community.
The rally witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 6,000 veterans, veer naris and dependents from across the region, making it one of the most significant outreach initiatives for the veteran fraternity in Upper Assam. The event provided a platform for interaction, grievance redressal and access to welfare-related services under one roof.
Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, General Officer Commanding, Spear Corps, interacted closely with the veterans, acknowledging their immense contributions to national security and nation-building. He lauded their lifelong commitment to duty and discipline, emphasising that their service continues to inspire serving personnel and future generations alike.
Various facilitation counters were set up by the Tri-Services and civil agencies to assist veterans and their families with issues related to pensions, medical benefits, resettlement schemes, documentation and welfare entitlements. The rally also featured informative sessions aimed at enhancing awareness about government initiatives and support mechanisms available for ex-servicemen and their dependents.
