Domestic violence can take many forms, including physical, emotional, sexual and financial abuse
Yesterday on the Mother’s Day this mother of two baby girls has become another victim of domestic violence, physical abuse and torture by in-laws.
On the eve of Eid, this sister (mother of two baby girls) was mercilessly tortured by in-laws for unknown reasons. And yesterday on Mother’s Day she lost her battle for life and breathed her last. The criminal must get capital punishment. Another victim of domestic violence. Capital punishment demands criminals!!! “Jahleat” (barbarity) There are a thousand and of examples available but who cares "Innocent soul"
Die daily but mostly women who became the most affected by domestic violence. People write and give huge speeches but no one listens, better was to apply it practically rather giving tall lectures.
Here in my locality, a boy who was a drug addict used to spend most of his time wandering around Mohalla. His parents married him to a girl who was their relative. (it's impossible that they were not aware that he was a drug addict) After marriage, he started beating her again and again. Many times, she left the house but hit her parents send her back after her in-laws instead. During that time, Allah blessed her with two daughters and one son. When she couldn't bear the violence, she left the house. She left her children with her in-laws. She had the right to do so but (to me) it was the biggest mistake to abandon her children, they were brought up by their grandmother with love and affection but no one can fill their parents' place in children's life. The girls use to do embroidery work along with their studies. Their grandmother made dowries for the girl’s and married them at the early age of 16 to 17.
They were not much aware of the cleverness of this world coz they spend most of their time inside the house. After some time both girls became pregnant. One of them faced complexities n her in-laws gave her medicine (Panadol and ponton) without the doctor's recommendation. BTW when delivery time came, her in-laws took her to a local government hospital (where the government has hired nurses to play the lives of innocent people). She lost her baby during delivery. After that, they(in-laws) don't take care of her health. Even they don't let her sleep on her bed (they think that the bed becomes napak (impure) when a woman sleeps on it after delivery). She used to sleep on a mat in winter. (how cruel) Her SaaS (mother-in-law) doesn't let anyone meet her (neither neighbors nor parents). At that time, she suffered from pneumonia (again they don't take her to the doctor). When her situation grew more and more bitter her parents took her. When they take her to the hospital, the doctor said that her kidney had stopped working due to the medicine that she used during pregnancy and she shall have to go for dialysis. Her chest was also swelled and doctors operated because they suspected that it could be cancer. Three days before Eid, doctors let her come home till Ed's vacation ended. I visited her on 27 Ramadan, her condition was unbearable, her body was swelled bitterly and one of her hands was bleeding due to over swelling. She died on the second day of Eid. She come, suffered and die. She must be enjoying herself in heaven. Allah sent her to show us the mercilessness and inhumanity of our brutal nature. This is how we crush innocence.
I have quoted here this story there are thousands of stories available for use in our daily lives the women from every corner of life get suffered and are the worst hit by the domestic violence my story is a representation for all the daughters hit by domestic violence in their homes, I am their voice, my pen is their strength.
Domestic violence is any type of physical, emotional, sexual or financial abuse. It can be perpetrated by your partner, any family member (natal or matrimonial), or a combination thereof. But more cases of domestic violence can be seen in in-laws with the women. Women have suffered the most as domestic violence is considered the need of the hour is to understand the consequences and causes related to domestic violence.
Domestic violence can take many forms, including physical, emotional, sexual and financial abuse.
Physical Abuse
It is the form of abuse that has been seen in most cases. In this abuse physical force is used to suppress a girl or a woman. This form of abuse should not be ignored at all this form of abuse usually gets worse with time and should be dealt with strictly.
Emotional Abuse
Emotional abuse is an attack on your personality other than your body. Women have suffered domestic violence emotionally without being hurt.
Sexual Abuse
This form of abuse is mainly from your partner he sometimes forcibly prepares you for sex or disheartens you by unwillingly calling you for sex when you are not prepared. He uses his all authority to control you.
Financial Abuse
In this form of abuse, we have seen your partner doesn’t give you financial independence or he controls you financially. This is a powerful way for a man to control his partner or my in-laws to financially control you they didn’t buy clothes or fulfill other day-to-day needs for you. Or your in-laws may abuse you about dowry or other such things.
In Kashmir, we have seen the most cases of financial abuse because often our women are being attacked by their in-laws on smaller or bigger things that she has not bought from their in-laws during the marriage, the things like dowry etc. are the root cause of this menace, it is my request to all that how long we should suffer how long our sisters, mothers will face violence
We can control the menace of domestic violence once and for all but it will take time the major thing we can do for domestic violence in Kashmir is to have a social boycott with the family involved in domestic violence it can be handy to save our daughters from suffering from domestic violence also the main thing if our mothers will consider their daughters-in-law as their daughters the domestic violence menace will get extinct once for all actually, we can bear any mistake done by our sister, daughter but when it comes to their daughter in law we never accept a single mistake by her but why? Isn’t she liking your sister or like your daughter understand it sooner than later? Also, the menace of dowry and other such kinds of acts become the main reason for domestic violence which is to be understood and thrown away from society.
Numerous NGOs in Kashmir are working for the welfare of domestic violence the social media platform is full of supporters supporting the cause so is in the case of the Anantnag women victim we have heard fir was launched against the in-laws but we all need to start it from our home someone has rightly said charity begins at home.
Woman Have the right to free legal services under the legal service authorities Act,1987. As per legal opinion is considered the protection of domestic violence act,2005, the survivors of domestic violence are entitled to the following:
Monetary Relief and Maintenance
you are entitled to maintenance, including loss of earnings, medical expenses, and property damage.
Protection
After you approach the police, a magistrate can pass orders to stop the offenders from committing violence towards you, interacting with you, taking your assets or intimating your family
Residence
You can’t be evicted from the shared household
Compensation
You can claim damages for mental and physical injuries.
Custody
The court can grant you temporary custody of the children. It can also pass the interim order to stop violence before the final order
Domestic violence is a menace in society we all should speak above prejudice and malice against it. We all should understand domestic violence was seen with someone’s daughter or mother in Kashmir tomorrow it could be us, people; it could be our daughter's mother suffering from this brutal menace. We should understand domestic violence should
Extinct once and for all in our society. But in the end, I would like to say better is to serve your daughter in law than your daughter loves your daughter law than daughter you will see the miracles in the society.
