
Mughal road closed due to fresh snowfall
The Meteorological department on Sunday predicted light rain or snowfall at scattered places in upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.
A MeT official said the weather will remain partly to general cloudy on Monday and fair to partly cloudy with poor visibility in morning hours from October 24-27.
“Light rain is likely to occur at scattered places of J&K from October 28-29,” he said.
However, there is no forecast of any major rain or snowfall till October 27 in J&K and Ladakh.
The minimum temperature recorded at Srinagar was 6.6 degree Celsius, Qazigund 5.4 degree Celsius, Pahalgam 1.8 degree Celsius, Kokernag 6.0 degree Celsius and Gulmarg 3.2 degree Celsus, the MeT office said.
Meanwhile, the Mughal road, connecting Kashmir’s Shopian district with the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch, was closed due to fresh snowfall, officials said.
The thoroughfare was closed due to snowfall en route.
Earlier, this month, the road, considered as alternative to Jammu-Srinagar Highway, was closed for two days due to snowfall near 'Pir KiGali.
