
The Meteorological Department Kashmir has predicted light to moderate rain and snowfall at many places in Jammu and Kashmir.
A MeT official said there is a possibility of light rain/snow at isolated higher reaches towards late night today.
“On Tuesday the weather will generally remain cloudy with the possibility of light to moderate rain/snow at many places till the forenoon of Wednesday. The weather will improve thereafter,” he said.
The MeT official said the upper reaches of Chenab Valley and Pirpanjal Range in south Kashmir may receive a snow depth of 8 to 10 inches during the period.
“There is a possibility of yet another spell of light rain/snow at isolated to scattered places on February 9 and light rain/snow at scattered to fairly widespread places during February 10 and 11,” he said.
Barring tourist destinations of Pahalgam and Gulmarg, the night temperature recovered across the Valley.
Srinagar recorded a minimum of 1.5°C, and it was 2.1°C above the average for the place during this period of the season.
The tourist destination of Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded a low of -5.7°C, the night temperature in the ski resort of Gulmarg settled at -7.6°C and Qazigund recorded a low of -1.2°C on Monday.
