
The MeT department has predicted isolated to fairly widespread light rain and snow in Jammu and Kashmir for four days from Monday.
A MeT official said mainly dry weather is expected in the next 24 hours.
He predicted isolated to fairly widespread light rain and snow from March 10-14.
“On March 10, there is a prediction of fairly widespread rain or snow in Kashmir region and scattered rain in Jammu division,” MeT official said.
Meanwhile, the minimum night temperature in Kashmir was 1-2 C below normal while in Jammu Division, it was mostly normal except in Jammu, where it was 3 C below normal.
The lowest temperature in Kashmir was recorded at the tourist resort of Sonamarg in Ganderbal district, where the mercury plummeted to -7.3 C last night.
Another popular hill station, Pahalgam in Anantnag district, recorded a minimum temperature of -2.6 C, while the ski resort of Gulmarg in Baramulla registered -4.5 C.
Srinagar recorded a low of 1.6 C.
There was heavy snowfall in the last week of February and rains on March 3-4 and it provided much-needed relief from the prolonged dry condition.
