
Aizawl, , Feb : The Assam Rifles under Spear Corps, in coordination with the Government of Mizoram and the Mizoram Ex-Servicemen League, organised a grand Ex-Servicemen Rally in Aizawl on February 7, 2026. The event was attended by distinguished dignitaries, including the Hon’ble Governor of Mizoram, General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd), the Hon’ble Home Minister of Mizoram Pu K Sapdanga, and Lt Gen Abhijit S. Pendharkar, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, GOC Spear Corps.
The rally was designed to address the welfare and needs of veterans and their families. Several stalls were set up to provide services including medical check-ups, grievance redressal, banking support, and dissemination of information related to veterans’ benefits.
In addition, veterans and Veer Naris (women relatives of fallen soldiers) were honoured for their courage, dedication, and sacrifice, recognising their contribution to the nation and the armed forces.
Officials highlighted that such initiatives not only strengthen the bond between the armed forces and the community but also ensure that ex-servicemen and their families receive the recognition, support, and services they rightfully deserve. The event served as a platform to celebrate the legacy of service while addressing the ongoing welfare needs of veterans in Mizoram.
