Imphal , May 3: Red Shield Division, in coordination with telecom operators under Spear Corps, successfully restored critical mobile connectivity in Ukhrul district of Manipur by repairing damaged Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) infrastructure at Senaikethai on 01 May 2026.

The operation was carried out under challenging conditions, including adverse weather and difficult terrain, along with prevailing security constraints in the region. Despite these hurdles, technical teams and security personnel worked in close coordination to complete the repair work.
The restoration effort has reconnected nearly 70 villages, significantly improving mobile communication access for remote and underserved areas of the district. The restored connectivity is expected to enhance emergency communication, public service delivery, and coordination among local administration and security forces.
Officials noted that the initiative marks a crucial step in strengthening digital connectivity in far-flung regions of Manipur, ensuring that residents are no longer cut off from essential communication networks.
