MY Bharat holds anti-drug drive in Pahalgam

Anantnag, Aug 2: In a significant step toward empowering the youth and building a drug-free nation, MY Bharat Anantnag, under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, organized a special youth awareness program today at Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports (JIM&WS), Pahalgam.

Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Tariq Ahmad Malik, graced the occasion as Chief Guest while Adm Officer, JIM&WS, D. N. Raina, District Social Welfare Officer, Basharat Mehmood, Deputy Director My Bharat Anantnag, Khushal Gupta besides officials, youth, volunteers and other stakeholders were also present.
The highlight of the event was the collective participation of local youth, officials, and community members in the virtual address delivered by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, regarding nationwide campaign: "Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat." The participants listened to the address with keen interest and enthusiasm, reflecting their dedication for a healthy and drug free society.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Director My Bharat impressed upon the youth to act as dynamic agents of change by inspiring others toward creating a healthy, vibrant, and drug-free society, as envisioned in the national ambition of Viksit Bharat @2047. He advised the young minds to channel their energies into constructive, health-oriented, and goal-driven pursuits.
Khushal Gupta sensitised the participants about the harmful physical, psychological and social consequences of substance abuse and urged them to become ambassadors of a drug-free society. He emphasised that a healthy, disciplined and responsible youth population is essential for achieving the national vision of a developed India.
The venue reverberated with spirited slogans raised by the participating youth, including “Gen Z Against Drug Addiction” and “Ek Sankalp, Ek Bharat — Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat,” showing determination of the younger generation to stand united against the menace of drug and substance abuse.
Calling the initiative a pivotal step, representatives from MY Bharat highlighted the importance of such grassroots awareness drives, interactive workshops, and youth engagement programs in strengthening community resilience against substance abuse and encouraging youth participation in national development.
The programme served as a platform to mobilise young citizens against substance abuse and reinforce the message that the journey towards Viksit Bharat @2047 must be powered by a healthy and drug-free generation. It concluded with a strong collective resolve to carry the message of “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat” by enthusiastic and passionate youth to their communities and contribute towards building a drug-free and developed India.
