Anantnag, May 5: In a major offensive against drug trafficking and the narcotics ecosystem, Police in Anantnag launched simultaneous Narco Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) at 20 identified locations across the district targeting suspected drug kingpins, peddlers, facilitators, and individuals linked with narcotics networks.

“The coordinated operations were carried out by multiple police teams under the supervision of senior officers as part of the police’s intensified and sustained campaign against drug abuse and illicit trafficking. The searches were conducted on the basis of credible intelligence and evidence gathered during ongoing investigations into NDPS cases,” a police spokesman said.
He said the objective of these operations is to dismantle the organized narcotics network, identify its financial and logistical support systems, and take stringent legal action against all those involved in promoting or facilitating the drug menace.
“Police remains committed to making the district drug-free and reiterates its resolve to act firmly against drug peddlers, kingpins, and their associates. Further details regarding recoveries, arrests, and legal action shall be shared after completion of the operations,” added the spokesman.
