National Rural Livelihoods Mission gathers steam in J&K

‘J&K releases 1st tranche of central share of Rs 45 cr’

An amount of Rs 45 Crore has been released by the Jammu and Kashmir government for the implementation of the National Rural Livelihoods Mission in the region.
National Rural Livelihood Mission is a poverty alleviation project implemented by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. This plan is focused on promoting self-employment and the organization of the rural poor. The amount released is the first tranche of the first instalment of the Central share.
“Sanction is hereby accorded to release along with its advance drawl of funds amounting to 4504.22 lakh (Forty-Five Crore Four lakh twenty-two thousand only) as 1st tranche of 1st instalment of Central Share for implementation of National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM)/Ajeevika during FY 2022-23 in UT of Jammu & Kashmir in favour of Mission Director, JKRLM, as 1st tranche of 1st instalment of Central Share for implementation of National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM)/Ajeevika during FY 2022-23 in UT of Jammu & Kashmir”, reads the order issued by Mandeep Kaur, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government.
As per the order, the funds shall be utilized after observing all codal formalities /procedures to maintain financial discipline. The expenditure shall be incurred strictly as per the conditions laid down in the BEAMS order referred to above and the conditions laid down in the sanction letters of the Govt. of India.
Mission Director, JKRLM shall further release the funds through Public Financial Management System. Mission Director, JK Rural Livelihood Mission shall submit the Utilization Certificate of advance drawl to the Accountant General, J&K as well as the Govt. of India as early as possible definitely before 31-03-2023 with a copy to Administrative Department. The monthly progress report both physical/ financial shall be submitted on a basis to the Administrative for monitoring regular expenditures.
