Natiopora dumping site irritates locals

March 14, 2026 | Mohammad Danish

Srinagar, Mar 13: Residents of Natiopora are facing growing discomfort and health concerns due to an unregulated dumping site in their area. The site, which has been accumulating waste for months, is causing foul odors, attracting pests, and leading to frequent stings and injuries among locals.

Many residents reported that children and elderly people are especially affected, with some experiencing allergic reactions and infections from exposure to the waste. “The smell is unbearable, and several of us have had stings and rashes after coming near the site,” said a local resident.
Community members have urged municipal authorities to take immediate action to clean the area and implement proper waste management measures. Environmental experts warn that such dumping sites can lead to soil and water contamination, posing long-term health risks to the population.
Authorities have yet to respond officially, but residents hope swift intervention will prevent further harm and restore safety and hygiene in Natiopora.
