Chairman World Peace Harmony and Director Saifi Films Haji Shakeel Saifi has asserted that Naya Kashmir under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah would be a reality soon.
“All the previous governments have done nothing for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. They have done nothing to bring peace. There is joblessness everywhere. No previous chief minister has worked for the people,” Saifi said in an interview with Brighter Kashmir.
He said his organization is working to establish a Bollywood City in Kashmir. “My dream is that people around the world should come and shoot films in this city,” Saifi said.
He said that the programmes and plans of PM Modi should reach every household in Kashmir.
Saifi said: “We are actually doing this by setting up Bollywood City for the unemployed people of Kashmir. We are going to each and every district of Kashmir to look for talent.”
Tourism and unemployment will also be addressed when the dream of Bollywood City becomes a reality, he said.
Saifi said the government won’t support him in setting up Bollywood city and he is doing it out of his own finances. “However, if the Modi government provides any subsidy he will take that to promote the talent in Kashmir. Kashmir is a very talented state,” Saifi said.
He said that since the abrogation of Article 370, people have started to come to Kashmir and some of the factories have also come up. “We are trying to make Kashmir on the lines of Gujarat Model so that the beauty of Kashmir is seen world over,” Saifi said.
“Bollywood City's motive is to give a proper shape to the talent of Kashmir so that people worldwide come here and see the talent of this beautiful place. We are trying to bring more and more people to Kashmir,” he said.
He said people from Bollywood do want to come to Kashmir however there are some hiccups which can be done away with. “Instead of going to Switzerland they want to come to Kashmir,” she said.
World Peace Harmony Chairperson Simran Sachdeva said that women of Kashmir should come forward and work instead of being at home and unemployed.
“It is not necessary that people should travel to Mumbai to showcase their talent. It is one of the reasons that we are opening a Bollywood City in Kashmir. Our aim is to promote Kashmiri talent in Kashmir,” she said.
