Srinagar, Sept 19: The National Conference (NC) has called a meeting of its legislators and Independent members supporting the government on Sunday, a day before the commencement of the Autumn Session of the J&K Legislative Assembly.

According to an official communication issued by NC Chief Whip Mubarik Gul on Saturday, the meeting will be held under the chairmanship of party president Farooq Abdullah in the presence of Chief Minister and NC Legislature Party leader Omar Abdullah.
The meeting has been scheduled for 4:30 pm on September 20 at the Banquet Hall, Srinagar.
The communication states that the meeting will comprise "Hon'ble Members of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly belonging to the J&K National Conference and the Independent Members supporting the Government."
"All members are accordingly requested to make it convenient to attend the meeting on the appointed date and at the scheduled time and venue," the letter states.
The meeting has been convened ahead of the Autumn Session of the J&K Assembly, scheduled from September 21 to September 30 in Srinagar. The session calendar has seven sitting days.
The meeting is expected to bring together the ruling NC legislators and Independent members supporting the government ahead of the session, during which legislative and other government business is scheduled to be taken up.
The BJP has also convened legislature party meeting on Sunday to devise strategy for the upcoming autumn session.
