NCM conveys meeting with Buddhist Community leaders at Delhi

The National Commission for Minorities (NCM) convened a meeting with Buddhist community leaders to address key issues concerning the community’s development, heritage preservation, and welfare.
Discussions centered on the allocation of land for Buddh Vihars, ensuring dedicated spaces for religious and cultural activities. The promotion of Pali language was also emphasized, recognizing its significance in preserving Buddhist scriptures and teachings. Additionally, concerns were raised regarding the protection and maintenance of Buddhist pilgrimage sites, with a focus on infrastructure, accessibility, and preservation of historical significance.
The meeting also highlighted the need for educational and economic empowerment of the Buddhist community through skill development programs, scholarships, and financial support for monastic institutions. The participants stressed the importance of including Buddhist studies in academic curricula and increasing awareness about Buddhist heritage.
The NCM reaffirmed its commitment to addressing these concerns and assured proactive engagement with the relevant authorities to facilitate solutions.
