Driving licence printing to begin in Srinagar within a week: Tpt Comm

May 30, 2025 | BK NEWS SERVICE

Srinagar, May 30: Transport Commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Vishesh Paul Mahajan (JKAS), announced today that the printing of driving licences will commence within a week at the newly established facility at Transport Bhawan, Bemina, Srinagar.
The initiative is designed to enhance citizen services by digitizing and streamlining the driving licence issuance process. Under the new system, printed licences will be delivered directly to applicants’ residences, eliminating the need for them to visit RTO/ARTO offices.
Shri Mahajan stated that the move is part of a larger strategy to address longstanding public grievances and to improve efficiency and transparency in transport services. He emphasized the government's commitment to reducing footfall in public offices through enhanced online services.
During the announcement, the Transport Commissioner also reviewed the status of online service delivery and directed officials to ensure strict adherence to the timelines mandated under the Public Services Guarantee Act (PSGA).
