Pervez Ahmad Baba a resident of Nowpora Tangdhar Village has aptly prove this right by getting selected as an Agniveer and fulfilling his dream of joining Indian Army. Pervez hails from a humble military background. His father Shakoor Ahmad Baba had served in a PVC Paltan of the Kargil war, while his brother is presently a serving soldier in Indian Army. Inspired at home and true to his family traditions, Pervez also wanted to join Indian Army and had been trying for same since 2019 ,however could never make the cut. Finally in Year 22, with prospect of joining Indian Army under Agniveer scheme , Pervez along with many others enrolled themselves at Youth Centre Tangdhar, YCT. YCT is a youth training centre being run by Indian Army which provides useful training and necessary skills to the youths in Tangdhar with an aim to empower them & make them self-reliant & self-sufficient. For Agniveer scheme, a planned training schedule of over two months with focus on physicals & written tests was undertaken at YCT. On 5 Dec 2022, when the results were declared a total of five youths from the area made it to the final list. Other achievers from the YCT were Umber Hamid & Mohammad Abdullah Khan of Kandi Village and Razwan Sarwar & Mohammad Rafid of Dildar village. An impressive eight boys in total made it to the final merit list from Tangdhar Valley. Indian Army congratulates these young achievers who will train & become pioneer batch of Agniveers. Pervez alongwith all selected Agniveers have now become Youth icons in Tangdhar and their achievement serve
as a bedrock of motivation for other young aspirants in Tangdhar. All Agniveers will be joining respective training centres in last week of Dec 22 for their basic training.
