Army inaugurates Usman community learning centre in Nowshera

The Indian Army proudly dedicated the Usman Community Learning Centre & Career Counselling Hub to the local populace in Jhangar today. The facility was inaugurated by General Officer Commanding (GOC) 16 Corps, Lieutenant General Navin Sachdeva, as part of Operation SADBHAVANA.
This state-of-the-art facility, developed over the course of eight months, aims to provide enhanced educational opportunities for the youth of border villages who often face challenges in accessing quality learning resources. General Sachdeva commended the dedicated efforts that culminated in the establishment of this important hub.
The Usman Community Learning Centre features a modern library and reading room, designed with contemporary aesthetics and a curated collection of books to inspire young minds. Additionally, the centre includes an Audio-Visual Room equipped with high-speed internet to facilitate seamless video conferencing and access to online educational content. Integral to the facility are professional career counselling services aimed at guiding local youth in their professional journeys. A souvenir shop and snacks corner further enrich the centre’s offerings.
This new hub is an upgrade to the Usman Memorial, which honours the valiant actions and sacrifices of Indian Army soldiers and local residents during the 1947-48 War, under the leadership of Brigadier Mohammad Usman, Mahaveer Chakra. The event also marked the inauguration of the renovated Usman Museum, carried out by the local Army unit.
The Indian Army remains committed to fostering educational initiatives and empowering the community through such endeavours, enhancing the quality of life for those in border regions.
