Assam Rifles pays tribute to fallen soldiers

Srinagar, Feb 24: Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, along with all ranks, paid solemn tribute to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on February 24.

The DG Assam Rifles acknowledged the courage, dedication, and selflessness of the fallen personnel, emphasizing that their sacrifice serves as an enduring inspiration for all serving members. He highlighted that their commitment to safeguarding the nation and maintaining peace in challenging terrains exemplifies the highest ideals of service.
In a ceremonial homage, personnel observed a two-minute silence, laid wreaths, and offered prayers in honour of the martyrs. The tribute also reaffirmed Assam Rifles’ commitment to supporting the families of the departed soldiers and ensuring their welfare.
Lt Gen Lakhera addressed the troops, stressing the importance of vigilance, professionalism, and dedication in continuing the legacy of the valiant soldiers. He urged all ranks to uphold the honour and values exemplified by those who laid down their lives in service of the nation.
